Calm Mind, Joyful Heart

through the Wisdom of Ayurveda

with Anne McIntyre and Gina Mastroluca

October 27-28th 2012

Puckham Barn, Whittington, Near Cheltenham

Ayurveda is one of the most ancient and respected traditions in the world, originating some 5000 years ago in India. The name Ayurveda derives from two Sanskrit words: Ayur (life) and Veda (wisdom or knowledge), meaning the wisdom of how to live. It is not only a system of medicine, it is also a way of life that aims to enhance health, wellbeing and longevity through a union of physical, emotional and spiritual balance, as a prerequisite for attaining Moksha or self realisation.

In Ayurveda, heart and mind are one. They are the mirror of pure awareness, reflecting the light of our inner selves, the unconditioned world beyond space and time. During the weekend we will introduce the basic principles of Ayurveda and the subtle anatomy of the heart & mind. We will explore our own mental and emotional constitutions and discover how the tools of Ayurveda – meditation, mantra, herbs, foods and lifestyle – can help us to cultivate peace, joy and balance. We will leave with a deeper understanding of ourselves and with principles and practices to apply in our daily lives.

Anne McIntyre is a Medical Herbalist, Ayurvedic Practitioner and the author of 18 books on herbalism and Ayurveda. Her latest book, The Ayurvedic Bible is an excellent introduction to Ayurvedic Medicine.

Gina Mastroluca is a Polarity Therapist and the founding director of Moksha Center for Ayurveda, Yoga and Polarity Therapy in Portland, Maine USA. She is a long-time student of meditation and Tibetan Buddhism.

Anne and Gina have been presenting the Calm Mind, Joyful Heart workshops for many years in the USA . This is the first time they have been held in the UK.
